Hitachi’s LaChrom Elite® and Sensivate Elite: Post-Column Derivatization Application-Specific Solutions

Hitachi's LaChrom Elite HPLC and Sensivate Elite PCR deliver turn-key analysis kits for a variety of compounds. Carbamate pesticides and glyphosate herbicide kits are available, which achieve low-level detection with high selectivity. Derivatization kits with ninhydrin or o-phthaldehyde offer cost effective solutions for the analysis of Amino Acids via PCR. The kits include analytical columns, reagents, buffers, and instructions (EPA methods 531.1 and 547).

Typical Applications:

• Fatty Acid Analysis: Low level UV-Vis detection, no strong chromophores in most saturated fatty acids

• Carbohydrates: Low level detection using phenacyl with a pulsed amperometric detector (PAD)
• Glucosamine: Fluorescence detection based on phenacyl reaction or hydrolysis/OPA derivatization
• Chondroitin Sulfate: Fluorescence detection based on 2-cyanoacetamide/sodium hydroxide derivatization
• Alternative Aflatoxin Analysis: Low level detection using UV-derivatization with a PHoto REaction Device (PHRED), which converts aflatoxins G2 and B2 into fluorescent hemi-acetal derivatives
